The Harrisburg Chapter invites everyone who shares our interest in rail transportation and history to become members. Different membership categories are available based on membership in our parent organization, the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS).

Membership Categories

  • Regular - $15 annually. Must be a NRHS national member in good standing.* Eligible to vote, hold office and serve on committees.

  • Chapter Only - $15 annually. NRHS national member in good standing* through another chapter. Eligible to vote, hold office and serve on committees.

  • Friend of Harris Tower - $30 annually. Does not require national membership. Not eligible to vote, hold office or serve on committees.

  • Student - $12 annually. Must be under 18 years old. Does not require national membership. Not eligible to vote, hold office or serve on committees.

  • Family - $4 annually. A relative residing in the same household as one of the above members.

Membership runs from January through December. Renewals are accepted through January 31st. Please consider making a donation when applying for or renewing your membership.

*National NRHS dues must be paid, and the member must not be under suspension or subject to disciplinary action. Click HERE for information about national memberships. 

NOTE: All membership levels include an emailed (PDF) chapter newsletter. There is a $15.00 surcharge added to the dues rates listed above if you wish to receive a printed and mailed copy of the newsletter instead of a digital emailed copy.

You can also print out a paper membership application, complete it, and mail it along with a check to the address indicated on the form. Payment in full must accompany the application.

National Railway Historical Society Annual Dues (for information only)

  • Regular - $50.00

  • Each additional family member - $7.00

NOTE: Starting in 2015, annual NRHS dues are collected separately from Harrisburg Chapter dues. You will need to register with both the NRHS and the Harrisburg Chapter, and remit to both organizations separately. You must apply for membership to the NRHS through the NRHS’ website.
